Intelligence with Consequences: Developing Physical AI for a Better World

Ivo Marrocco brings a unique background to his role at Renesas. He spent his early career on Bosch automotive brake systems and pioneering contactless-payment chips at Philips/NXP. Today, he leads user experience (UX) for one of the world's largest embedded systems providers.

In this keynote discussion, Marrocco shares his distinct perspective on the tech industry's rapid shift toward physical AI and humanoid robotics. He explains why Renesas believes its broad portfolio—spanning microcontrollers (MCUs), analog components, and power devices—uniquely positions the company to lead this transition.

He also breaks down how Renesas is executing a strategic pivot organized around three primary growth vectors:

  • AI infrastructure and compute

  • Software-defined vehicles and physical AI

  • Intelligence at the edge

Marrocco will also discuss why UX is critical to this transformation, explaining how design and accessibility will allow a historically vertical-account-focused company to scale and serve a much broader, more fragmented developer community.

The conversation will also tackle a few of the industry's bigger questions, including: how to build autonomous systems and humanoid robots safely, responsibly, and efficiently.
